We develop stimuli-responsive materials for medical use, to seal wounds and aid in tissue regeneration.
One specific interest is the design of compliant and elastic material alternatives.
Soft Tissue Engineering Scaffolds
We design hydrogels and interpenetrating networks with controlled geometries
and mechanical properties to aid in the 3D culture and regeneration of soft tissues.
Polymers from Biowaste
We aim to develop and define stimuli-responsive materials for biomimetic
and medical applications, based on natural materials such as alginate and hyaluronic acid.
Controlled and Targeted Drug Delivery
We combine our unique hydrogels with conventional therapeutics to enhance disease treatment.
We specialize in sustained local delivery and antibody targeting techniques.
Novel Cancer Treatments
We investigate the use of growth factors as intracellular
signaling molecules for cell-selective non-toxic cancer treatments.
